My friend,
Indeed, the rumours are true. Yours truly has sired a tadpole, one Brendan B. Fogg-Bottom, weighing in at 9 lbs, 6 oz. Both mother and crew member are doing fine.
There will not be significant changes to the composition of the FogWatch crew, at least not for the time being. Little Fogg-Bottom at present has been assigned the rank of Assistant to the Cabin Boy, and that worthy is instructing the young lad in the various requirements and duties of life at sea.
I must say that he is adapting quite well to the regimen -- the sea-faring way is in his blood, methinks! That said, it is taking him a bit of time to get his sea legs, and I believe he is having some trouble with seasickness, due to his difficulty in keeping down his daily ration of grog. His training in using the ship's water closet is also taking a bit longer than might be expected.
Thank you for the question, and for your interest.
Your Admiral,
Rear Admiral Phineas Fogg-Bottom Junior
