My friend,
I think what we need here is not a change of neighborhood but rather a change of attitude.
The Sunset is foggy...this cannot be denied (some might say that 3 months of fog is a conservative estimate...but I digress). If one wishes to survive such a harsh environment, one needs to learn how to make lemons out of lemonade, if you will.
Por ejemplo, I personally know of a gentleman living on Lincoln Way who has installed a unique contraption in his flat to help him cope with the long summers. Said device consists of a large, globe-shaped lamp mounted on tracks that run east to west though his apartment.
As the day progresses, the lamp simulates the movement of the sun across the sky as it slowly tracks across the ceiling. In this way, this individual is able to compensate for the loss of solar presence in his life.
That said, the need for sunlight should really be viewed as a purely emotional response. Studies by Swedish researchers have indicated that humans can survive for up to 5 years without any form of solar radiation. So, the upshot is that it could be far, far worse.
Welcome to the Sunset!
